Philadelphia-based singer/songwriter Alec Ounsworth is one of the main reasons why the indie rock band Clap Your Hands Say Yeah rose to prominence in 2005 with its eponymously titled debut LP. Ounsworth's provocative lyrics and tuneful songwriting helped establish his group and in 2009 he decided to record and release his debut solo LP, Mo Beauty. Though the album was not as successful as his releases with Clap Your Hands, it nonetheless helped solidify Ounswroth's reputation as a capable indie-folk tunesmith who can write memorable songs with catchy rhythms and fairly memorable lyrics.
