Papercuts is a San Francisco-based indie pop project based around the songs of front man Jason Robert Quever. After moving to the Bay Area in his youth, Quever settled in San Francisco once he was on his own and soon befriended and worked with fellow indie musicians like Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, Cass McCombs and Vetiver. His soft, folk-inspired take on indie pop/rock is fleshed out with a revolving cast of musicians who help turn his sketches into fully-bloomed tracks full of shimmery guitars and string arrangements. Quever's first couple of albums as Papercuts garnered very strong reviews from taste-makers like Mojo and Pitchfork, leading to a contract with indie heavyweights Sub Pop in 2010.
