Spanish musician Ainara LeGardon began her musical career as the front woman of the 1990s rock band Onion, eventually branching out on her own and releasing a highly acclaimed solo album in 2003. Her early days as a musician definitely come through in her solo work, which might incorporate elements of dark indie rock and anti folk, but also showcases her roots in 1990s style alt-grunge. While LeGardon is most well known in her home country--as she sings English and has drawn comparisons to the likes of PJ Harvey and Tara Jane ONeil--with more touring, her music will likely catch on in other countries as well.
