Israel Marco and Daniel Dominguez are Cuchillo, an experimental folk/rock band from Barcelona that formed in 2005. Immediately recognized for its calculated and understated use of guitar and percussion, the duo released its self-titled debut in 2008 to critical acclaim and embarked a national tour of Spain. Eventually expanding to the US and the UK, the tour garnered international attention for the band as it shared a stage with some of the most prominent acts of the decade including Radiohead and the neo-psychedelic pioneers The Black Angels. After four years of touring and perfecting its style, Cuchillo released its follow-up album Encanto, in 2012 when it was revealed at the Primavera Sound festival in its hometown.
