A house DJ since the early 1990s, Melanie Moore was initially a classically trained musician on the guitar and French horn. However, once the music of her cousin Anthony Kiedis, of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, rose to prominence, Moore began shifting her musical preferences. What she landed upon was house music and the Santa Fe-based DJ has since established Moore Media LLC, which is notable for putting on the Sex on Vinyl parties, which involve 4-8 different turntables and DJs all spinning house music simultaneously.
