Named after 1972 hit of the same name, Jean Genie is a cover band that pays tribute to the legendary David Bowie. Formed in 1993 by John Mainwaring and John Ford, the band has distinguished itself among the hoards of Bowie impostors by staying true to the music and never overdoing its theatrical live performances. Front-man Mainwaring even toured with the most famous carnation of Bowie's band, The Spiders of Mars, during the 1990s.
