Dwele is the stage name for Andwele Gardner, a soul singer/songwriter from Detroit, Michigan who emotionally charged brand of soul and R&B comes from the tragic memory of witnessing his father being shot to death when he was only 10. Dwele began his career as a collaborative artist who provided backing vocals for more successful R&B and hip-hop acts, many of whom saw a major increase in sales and critical acclaim as a result of Dwele's contributions.
