Stampede is a British hard rock band formed in 1981 by songwriters Reuben Archer and Laurence Archer. Initially part of the new wave of British heavy metal scene, they signed to Polydor Records and released the EP "Days of Wine and Roses" in 1981. Stampede went on to play at festivals and recorded a live album titled "The Official Bootleg." Their studio album "Hurricane Town" followed in 1983, featuring keyboardist Mark Stanway. However, due to Reuben's illness and the challenging music landscape, the band disbanded. In 2009, Stampede reunited with original members Reuben and Laurence Archer, along with new additions Chris Clowsley and drummer Steve Graystone. They released the album "A Sudden Impulse" in 2011, receiving critical acclaim. The current lineup also includes Colin Bond and guitarist Rob Wolverson. Stampede continues to perform live and is working on their second comeback album.
