Goya is an artist and producer who was born in Brooklyn, NY, to an English-Jamaican mother and Guyanese father. His relocation to South London during his teenage years opened up new opportunities for him. Goya immersed himself in various collectives in the city, honing his skills as an artist and producer over the course of a decade. His breakthrough came with the release of his debut self-produced EP, 'Morta & More Doves,' which served as a tribute to his late sister. This release marked the beginning of a prolific period for Goya, during which he went on to release five more projects including mixtapes and EPs, collaborating with different producers on each project. Goya's music draws inspiration from NYC hip hop storytelling, rooted in the city's boom-bap legacy. He is recognized for his ability to revive and reimagine this rich musical tradition, earning him acclaim and recognition in the industry.
