The Lexington Legends is a minor league baseball team from Lexington, Kentucky that competes in the South Atlantic League's Southern Division. Founded in 2001, the team has acted as an affiliate to Major League Baseball teams including the Houston Astros and the Kansas City Royals. Having won its first league and division titles during its inaugural season in 2001, the team quickly proved that it is a talented baseball club that's capable of doing more then cranking out players who go on to have successful careers in the majors.
