David Williams is a rapper from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania who creates music under the moniker Roscoe. The younger brother of Tha Dogg Pound member Kurupt, Roscoe spent his formative years inspired by West Coast beats and the California lifestyle, which would go on to greatly influence his own music, both thematically and sonically. After he was featured on one of his brother's records, he captured the attention of producer Daz who helped him assemble his first mix tape, When the Pain Inflict, in 2001. Roscoe earned immediate notoriety in the underground hip-hop scene and signed with Priority records to drop his debut album, Young Roscoe Philaphornia, in 2003.
