Hailing from Germany, Matthias Reim is a singer/songwriter and musician who owns a schlager-infused pop sound. He saw early success with his 1990 single "Verdammt, ich lieb' dich," which was released as part of his debut album Reim. The song attracted a broad European audience and spent sixteen consecutive weeks at the No.1 spot on the German charts. Reim eventually released an English version of his fourth studio album, 1994's Zauberland, in Canada under the title Wonderland, expanding his reach to Western audiences. He continues to release albums of his European pop tunes into the 2010s, including his 2013 studio album, Unendlich.
