Mahmoud Ahmed is as a shoe shiner turned handyman turned professional singer. This Ethiopian singer got his first break at the Arizona Club in the 1960s, then went on to sing for the Imperial Body Guard Band. Ahmed has collaborated with many other artists and bands in Ethiopia, Europe, and the United States.
