Jaik Willis is a Chicago-based troubadour who has pioneered a unique style of folk music that can be taken seriously or with a grain of salt. With lyrics that oftentimes discuss the downfalls of drinking too much or the joys of drinking too much, Willis' music is well-rounded and reflective of the life he has spent traveling, playing shows and occasionally getting into trouble. Receiving a good amount of attention in 2006 for a modern folk compilation album he appeared on, Willis has managed to be a stalwart of the Chicago singer/songwriter scene--opening up for notable acts when they swing through town and sharing the stage with the likes of Tea Leaf Green, Victor Wooten and Leftover Salmon.
