A lot of bands include a couple of siblings, or are based around the ever-popular husband and wife format. But it's no exaggeration to say that Springfield, Missouri-based Americana group Big Smith is as much a familial unit as you're likely to find. The band is comprised of five cousins, including two sets of brothers. Free of any pretension or ego, Big Smith plays laid back, classic folk and Americana full of banjos, guitar picking, stand-up bass and characteristic, down-home vocals that itch to be played during a summer hangout on the porch.
