Lovely Killbots is a Canadian synth-based dance rock duo from Toronto. The band operates within the confines of an origin story involving robots brought to life by a laboratory mishap, but luckily, despite the attention paid to the somewhat gimmicky premise, the duo's music speaks for itself. Combining expansive indie rock with cheesy, 1980s, synth-driven power pop, Lovely Killbots should appeal to fans of the the recent crop of dance rock artists, such as Passion Pit and Phoenix, though it maintains a strong identity thanks to the unique vocal style of its lead singer. The duo has emerged as an up-and-coming band within Toronto and recently recorded a new album with popular Canadian producer Gavin Brown.
