Emilie Simon, a French chanteuse and electronic composer began making music when she just six years old. Her first self-titled album released in 2003 in France received critical acclaim and commercial success. Many of her songs were re-released in English or combine the two languages. She wrote the original soundtrack for the documentary March of The Penguins. Her second album released in the United States in 2007 prompted a world tour during which she wrote her first entirely English album titled The Big Machine. Although she sings entirely English, her French accent is thick and charming. While her voice is beautiful and strong, it has a soft and delicate quality that fits well with her lighter electronic beats and harmonies.
