Daniel Darc (born Daniel Rozoum) first appeared on the French music scene in the 1970s and 1980s with Taxi Girl, a synthesizer heavy new wave group that enjoyed moderate success. The group disbanded in 1986, which prompted Darc to pursue a solo career soon after. Debuting in 1987 with Sous influence divine, his solo career traversed a number of different styles and genres, though it was usually rooted in French pop traditions. In addition to his original solo material, Darc has contributed cover tracks to tribute albums in honor of influential musicians such as Johnny Thunders, Nino Ferrer and Boris Vian.
