Alain Bashung

Alain Bashung (1947-2009) was a rock singer/songwriter from Paris who stood as one of France's most revered and commercially successful rock artists in the country's history. Releasing several platinum hits over the course of his decades-long career, Bashung earned over 11 of France's finest awards granted to musicians and artists since 1993. In addition to music, Bashung was also well-known in the French speaking world as an actor who acted in several acclaimed French films.
