The Liberty Flames represents the athletic programs and intercollegiate teams of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. The university maintains NCAA Division I standing and competes in the Big South Conference, the National Lacrosse Conference and the Football Championship Subdivision. Liberty has a celebrated cross country program that produced Josh McDougal, a 12-time All-American in cross country and track. The university also supports men's and women's teams in a number of other sports, including basketball, football, field hockey, golf, baseball, tennis, swimming, volleyball and soccer.
