Frumpy (years active: 1970–1972; 1990–1995) was a progressive rock band from Hamburg, Germany that achieved considerable commercial success during the heyday of early progressive rock between 1970-1973. Not only was Frumpy celebrated as one of the best European progressive rock bands, but in its native country, the German press often lauded the Frumpy as the best German rock band of its time. The band's lead singer Inga Rumph was particularly celebrated for her incredible vocal skills, as well as for being one of the few females performing in the progressive rock genre at the time. Although the band's career was relatively short, Frumpy is still considered by many as one of the harbingers of German prog rock.
