Dietrich Buxtehude

Dietrich Buxtehude was a 17th century composer and organist of German-Danish descent. His contribution to the mid-Baroque period of Germanic music is highly esteemed, and Buxtehude was an influence on J.S. Bach. Most notably, Buxtehude's pieces for organ are still central to the canon of organ music and in churches. His rich body of work has been extremely influential on further generations of composers.
