Will Ferrell is a comedian and actor from Irvine, CA who first came to attention in the mid-1990s as a cast member of Saturday Night Live. A favorite on the NBC sketch comedy program, he transitioned onto the big screen and starred in a series of successful comedies including Old School, Anchorman, Elf, Zoolander, Blades of Glory and Step Brothers throughout the 2000s. In 2007 he launched Funny or Die, a video streaming website dedicated to short form comedy films created by and voted on by users. Ferrell eventually began to work as a producer on projects such as HBO's Eastbout & Down, starring Danny McBride, and was recognized for his contributions to comedy in 2011 with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.
