Marty Wilde was a pioneer in the British music scene, one of the first to bring the American rock 'n roll sound to his home country. Wilde emerged in the first wave of British pop stars, and has maintained his position as a prominent singer and songwriter ever since. He has lived a full life in the entertainment industry, foraying for a moment into acting and fathering two Wilde Jr. pop stars, Ricki and Kim Wilde. In 2010, he continued a tour of live performances with his back-up band, the Wildcats.
