Luther Dickinson is a singer/songwriter and guitarist from Tennessee who helms the North Mississippi Allstars, plays lead guitar with the Black Crows, in addition to fronting a solo career. Growing up in a musical atmosphere, Dickinson picked up the guitar at a young age and quickly identified blues legends like R.L. Burnside, Othar Turner and Junior Kimbrough as his musical idols. In 1996, Dickinson formed the North Mississippi Allstars with his brother Cody and Chris Chew, on drums and bass, respectively. The blues-tinged southern rock act quickly established itself and so did Dickinson with his inventive approach to guitar playing, which eventually led the Black Crows to enlist him in 2007. Though he has always been grateful to contribute his part in the confines of a band dynamic, in 2012, Dickinson released his debut solo LP, Hambone's Maditations, where he was able to dictate all the composing and musical accompaniments as he saw fit.
