Houston rapper Slim Thug skyrocketed to popularity in the early 2000s with his guest verse on Mike Jones' hit single "Still Tippin'" Since the release of that track, Slim capitalized on his visibility with his Star Trak/Interscope-released Already Platinum. The record sold well, putting Slim on the map as a Top 40 rap artist and a leader in the burgeoning Southern rap scene. Slim's second record Boss of all Bosses did nearly as well as his debut record, and has kept Slim in the purview of rap and pop fans alike.
