When most people think of modern hard rock bands, images of tattoos, jet black hair, rampant facial piercings and uncouth fans wearing t-shirts of their favorite band flutter to mind. Most of these images are outspokenly American. The macho, truck driving type seems to have claimed the genre for itself and taken it to a place where it's inaccessible to most normal, forward-thinkin' folk. One group breaks the mold of most modern metal groups and is in the process of reclaiming the metal genre for the country that fostered and basically created the genre: England. The band - Voodoo Six - plays an unabashed form of metal that's fairly artsy and pretentious when stacked up against American groups. But the members of Voodoo Six are true songsmiths and don't disappoint when it comes to delivering the goods during their live performances - which have been known to include pyrotechnics, inflatable daemons, satanic emblems and above all, fist-pumping hard rock.
