Birdlips is an acoustic pop duo that combines the breezy sounds of bossa nova with psychedelia. Guitarist Cliff Usher and keyboardist Lindsay Pitts paired up in D.C. to create Birdlips' brand of psychedelic pop that offers both light and dark tones, creating a smokey grey atmosphere defined by their dreamy vocals, a moog synthesizer and subtle hints of reverberating garage rock and funk. The band has been praised for taking the best parts of 1960s Brazilian music and contemporary pop for a more exciting and dangerous feel than is typically expected from indie pop.
