When listening to English production duo Mount Kimbie, it's easy to imagine the group's sonic ethos as a polar reaction to the, now quite popular, electro house movement. There are no grand rises and falls, no drops, no cheesy tempo changes, no repetitive bass thuds, no egotistical producer stoking the crowd with a gimmicky presence. What the group does have, though, is plenty of humble beats arranged in such a way that makes listeners ponder the intricate way in which the songs were composed.
