Performance artist, musician, teacher of improvisation workshops and founder of the Olympia Festival of Experimental Musics, Arrington De Dionyso is quite the figure in the avant-garde arts. After studying Enthnomusicology and Music Therapy in Olympia, WA, De Dionyso formed the group Old Time Relijiun in 1995. Known for its shamanic, eerie performances and incorporation of highly diverse sounds, the band gained a cult following amongst more adventurous audiences. De Dionyso began performing solo shortly after, creating music with jaw harps, the bass clarinet and Tuvan throatsinging. While his music is far from an easy listen, De Dionyso is an incredibly talented musician to behold and an interesting live performance to witness.
