Fanfare Ciocarlia

Hailing from a remote village in eastern Romania, Fanfare Ciocarlia is a twelve-piece brass band that plays incredibly tight, high-energy gypsy music. The band's style originally arose out of the Eastern European wedding music tradition but the band has incorporated diverse influences into its sound while traveling across the globe. From Austrian and Turkish military bands, to traditional Bulgarian, Serbian and Macedonian music and tunes from Hollywood to Bollywood, Fanfare Ciocarlia utilizes an impressive repertoire of brass instruments and percussion to create high-speed, quick-paced beats and rhythms that are often improvised during live shows.
