Taking the idea of a bedroom project to the extreme, Kurt von Stetten is a singer/songwriter who began his musical experimentation in 1996 when he all but locked himself in a room and taught himself how to play guitar and drums. After a decades worth of trial and error, learning how to create music by recording and listening to himself over and over, he emerged in 2006 with his first album, Tree. Heavily influenced by independent rock of the 1990s and his own modern awkwardness and passions, his sound is filled with psychedelic guitar sounds and sharp, enchanting pop flavors. Von Stetten has since released a full length record a year for the last seven years, including 2012's Cyclops, and arguably his most self-assured record to date, 2013's Androlafi.
