Gladiola is an indie rock band from Boston that creates music saturated with a youthful spirit that can only be credited to lead singer Bill Madden-Fuoco's career as a high school English teacher. The indie rock outfit's music largely features lyrics about both the carefree attitude and the fearful uncertainty that comes with being a teenager, with Madden-Fuoco's unadorned vocals layered over strong background drum, piano and guitar rhythms. The band's third album, 2013's Off You Go, demonstrates its thematic growth as it deals with more political themes such as civil rights and illegal immigration.
