Surly Gates

Surly Gates is a band that makes a style of music that sounds like what groups would be cranking out if San Francisco's summer of love happened on the desert plains of El Paso, Texas. Formed in 2011 and based out of Austin, Texas, the group has pioneered a unique style and sonic amalgam for itself that it calls "psych surf acid rock." With its distinctive South West style matched with its unmistakable 1960s West Coast garage rock sound, Surly Gates has managed to distinguish itself from the myriad of floundering acts that inhabit the sprawling Austin music scene.
