The Pittsburgh Pirates are a Major League Baseball team and a member of the National League Central Division. Established in 1882, the franchise joined the National League in 1887. Perhaps the biggest highlight in franchise history came in 1960 during Game 7 of the World Series. Down 7-4 to the powerful New York Yankees, the Pirates won the game and the championship when Bill Mazeroski hit a walk-off home run. Some of the greatest players in Pirates history include Honus Wagner, Roberto Clemente, and Willie Stargell.
