The San Francisco Giants are a Major League Baseball team and a member of the National League West Division. The Giants were established in 1883 as the New York Gothams. The Giants played at the Polo Grounds while in New York. In 1958, the franchise moved west to San Francisco. The Giants' main rival, the Dodgers, moved from Brooklyn to Los Angeles that same year. Some of the greatest players in franchise history include Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, and Orlando Cepeda.
