Sporting Kansas City is a professional soccer team that plays in the Eastern Conference of Major League Soccer. Founded in 1995, the team was originally called the Wizards, but changed its name in 2010 to coincide with its move to its new stadium, Sporting Park. After having one of its best seasons in 2000, the team was able to win the MLS Cup as well as the MLS Supporters' Shield that year.
