Perhaps best known as the lead singer for the progressive rock band Yes, Jon Anderson is considered the major creative force behind many of the band's classic hits from the 1970s. However, since Yes released its debut album in 1969, Anderson has had an on again off again relationship with the band. His high-pitched vocal range has often been mistakenly described as "falsetto," but it's, in fact, his natural range. His voice, combined with a penchant for crafting lyrics with mystical themes, has contributed greatly to the signature sound of Yes, in addition to placing the band among the greats of classic progressive rock.
