David Brown, who performs and releases music as Lucky Daye, is a singer/songwriter from New Orleans who blends together elements of R&B and soul to create a unique sonic amalgam. Raised in a cult that forbade secular music, brown discovered an innate knack for singing after teaching himself melodies he discovered after turning children's books into songs. After leaving the cult, Brown immersed himself in music and became heavily influenced by the likes of Prince, Stevie Wonder and Rick James. Eventually releasing his debut album, Painted, the collection of songs helped establish brown as an innovative and original voice on the modern New Orleans music scene.
