Louisiana State University and Agricultural and Mechanical College, oftentimes abbreviated to Louisiana State University or simply LSU is a public university based out of Baton Rouge, Louisiana that was founded in 1860. The Tigers are the teams that compete on behalf of the school in the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Western Division of the Southeastern Conference. Though LSU plays host to a broad assortment of sports teams, it is probably best known for its football team, which has won several national titles, including its first in 1908.
