Mariachi El Bronx

Mariachi El Bronx is the side project of Los Angeles punk band The Bronx, as well as the title of the group's debut 2009 album. Mariachi El Bronx is, as you'd probably guess, an exploration into the sounds of mariachi music. Instead of pairing the band's usual punk style with the sounds of mariachi, the band has decided to write material in the genuine mariachi style. The band's vocals are, however, sung in English though the lyrical content seems to mimic the subject matter of most traditional mariachi music with songs of love and loss.
