Bare Wires

A throwback to pop-friendly garage rock of the 1960s, Bare Wires stands out amongst the multitude of garage bands on the modern music scene, simply for its refusal to conform to the scuzzy lo-fi quality most garage bands religiously adhere to. Essentially the project of Matthew Melton, the band was formed in Memphis in 2006 but has since relocated to Oakland and gone through countless lineups, before Melton settled on a trio in 2010. While Bare Wires might not be doing anything particularly innovative, its music provides a pleasant flashback to the glory days of garage rock.
