Instead of ditching his turntables, like most modern electronic beatsmiths, the New York based DJ Logic (aka Jason Kibler) has stuck with the old-school instrument and become one of the more accomplished turntablists of his generation. By blending elements of funk and jazz with hip-hop, DJ Logic has managed to innovate a style of music that cross-pollinates genres and ignores conventional deejay morays. Unlike many contemporaries, DJ Logic looks at his turntables as a musical extremity that can be manipulated and toyed with, akin to the way a guitar player or saxophonist would approach their respective instruments.
