Glambilly

There's always something refreshing about a band whose name describes everything you need to know about their sound, which is why Glambilly's deft mixture of hillbilly country and downtown glam rock is surprisingly expected. The band is primarily the songwriting project of San Antonio (by way of rural Appalachia) musician Hans Frank, whose background in the theater helps give Glambilly an overt wink-and-a-nudge performativity that can turn songs that occasionally border on kitsch into wicked deconstructions of popular, and often unpopular, culture.
