Leah and the Moonlighters

With the over-saturation of overproduced pop acts on the music scene, it's mildly refreshing to come across an act, like Leah and the Moonlighters, that plays a striped-down style of jazz-inspired folk music. Helmed by lead singer Leah Zeger's lovelorn voice and bolstered by the occasional horn-section flourish, the Austin, Texas-based group's sound is an unusual find amidst the nonstop onslaught of commercial pop starlets. The band released its eponymous debut LP in 2010 and as Leah and the Moonlighters plays more shows, it will undoubtedly develop the potential in its sound and become a noteworthy band of the multifaceted Austin music scene.
