One of South Africa's leading death metal groups, Vulvodynia came together in 2014. The band debuted with a full length album titled Cognizant Castigation in the same year. Vulvodynia has collaborated and toured with several of its peers. It has toured across Africa, Europe, US and Australia. The band is a major hit at massive festival owing to its energetic onstage performances.
