China Forbes

China Forbes is an American singer-songwriter best known as the frontwoman of the musical group Pink Martini. The Cambridge, MA-native met her future bandmate Thomas Lauderdale while at Harvard University. The two hit it off instantly and began to collaborate on music projects. A passionate actor as well, Forbes won the Jonathan Levy Prize at Harvard for acting and worked as an actress Off-broadway post graduating. She released her first solo album Love Handle in 1995, and sang a couple of songs for TV shows and movies. Lauderdale invited her to join his band Pink Martini and after three years of being associated with the band, she became a permanent fixture in its lineup. In addition to her work with Pink Martini, Forbes has released albums such as Ordinary Girl and '78, and has collaborated with the likes of Georges Moustaki and Michael Feinstein.
