Whether on her own or as a member of the 1990s alt-rock jam band, Sister Seven, Patrice Pike has been writing songs since the age of 16. The Austin-based musician gained notoriety in the local scene for her intense stage presence and somewhat in-your-face, boisterous vocal style. With Sister Seven, Pike scored a top 10 Billboard hit with the song, "Know What You Mean," and when the band broke up in 2000, she carried on, focusing her energy on a solo career. Her tracks, which can alternate between mellow folk/rock and throwbacks to 1990s radio alt-rock, have made her the youngest musician to be inducted into the Austin/Texas Music Hall of Fame and have afforded her opportunities to tour all over the world.
