Led by its exuberant front woman, Suzanne Ypma, Pitch Blond is a pop/rock band from the Netherlands. The three-piece plays a stripped-down yet quirky style that is influenced by the angular guitar riffs and full, bouncy bass lines of new wave and post-punk. Ypma's vocals are placed front and center in the proceedings, as both live and on record, it's her versatile alt-rock singing style that is the group's biggest strength. Though Pitch Blond's work is inspired by some seemingly non-mainstream genre trends, its presented in an overtly poppy fashion that draws comparisons to the later stages of No Doubt's career. The band's debut LP, Wise and Ugly, was dropped in 2009.
