Featuring the music of the renowned rock band Queen, We Will Rock You is a jukebox musical written by Ben Elton in collaboration with Queen members Roger Taylor and Brian May. Set in a dystopian future where originality is outlawed, an alienated young man takes a stand against the system in fulfillment of a prophecy that would revive freedom of expression through rock 'n' roll. An incarnation of Freddie Mercury, Queen's notoriously flamboyant front man, the young man uses Queen's hit songs to breed individualism. Since its original West End run, We Will Rock You has spawned numerous international tours, driven hoards of Queen fans to the theater and created a generation of new ones.
